Tradition is very important...

Pitztal is very rich on tradition. The " Schützenwesen" has companies in Arzl, Wald, Wenns, Jerzens, Zaunhof und St. Leonhard.

Beside the famous Pitztalchor there exist 7 capells and a lot of music groups.

Very typical is the carnival or the " Almabtrieb" in Jerzens.

The most famous artists are Prof. Martin Gundolf and Elmar Kopp. Futhermore Kassian Erhart, Ing. Günther Mathoi, Franz Xaver Markart, Gerhard Knabl, Werner Seidner and so on.

"Pitztaler Almweg"

The region Kaunergrat with its full range of alpine huts and pastures show off the long tradition of agricultur at the Nationalpark Kaunergrat-Pitztal. Because of the cultivation of the alps beautiful fauna and flora can be found there.

In the last section of Pitztal the so called "Pitztaler Almenweg" connects the five alps „Arzler Alm“, „Tiefentaler Alm“, „Neuberg Alm“, „Mauchele Alm“ and „Söllberg Alm“. (... more ...)
