A look “behind the scenes” at Hochzeiger.
Discover fascinating technical details
Between December and April we offer a “behind the scenes” tour at Hochzeiger once a week at thursday. During these guided tours we can focus on cable cars, snow cannons or piste equipment depending on demand.
Did you know that 21 tons of weight is being carried when all of the 64 cabins of Hochzeiger gondola cableway are fully loaded? A backstage guided tour reveals that the steel rope of the gondola cableway has a diameter of only 45 millimetres and the artificial snow team can control the snow quality in minute detail via a laptop. One of our technical professionals will reveal further fascinating facts on site. A guided tour takes 60 minutes and turns visitors into Hochzeiger Insiders.
These “behind the scenes” tours take place every Thursday at 1 pm. Meeting point for this guided backstage tour is at the upper terminus of the gondola cableway. To take part please book in advance any time up to 5 pm on Wednesday at Hochzeiger mountain railway ticket office. When registering, the first come - first serve principle applies.
