Until now there was no separate terrain for downhill fans in Pitztal. That will change in summer 2022: The new Hochzeiger Family Trail will open in June 2022 in the Hochzeiger hiking area in Jerzens. The Hochzeiger family trail has a length of around 7 km. Due to the easy level, the new blue trail is an exciting experience for the whole family and will offer downhill riding fun for all age groups.
First single trail in the Pitztal will open in June 2022
The Hochzeiger Family trail is characterized by its moderate longitudinal gradient (3% to 8%) and it has hardly any obstacles. There are plenty of curves, berms, waves and of course endless fun.
The start is at 2000 meters – next to the top station of the Hochzeiger gondola lift. Here starts the first section of the trail, called "Witches' Trail", then the trail leads in the direction of the Hochzeigerhaus/Stalderhütte, before the trail enters into the stone pine forest near the Bärensteig. From here it is almost as if you are diving through an enchanted magic forest. There are also time-out spots near the trail for taking a little break. Finally the Hochzeiger Family trail ends after 7 km at the Hochzeiger valley station, where there is a bike wash area and a bike rental. If you want to do another bike lap, you can easily reach the starting point of the trail with the Hochzeiger gondola lift in less than 15 minutes again. There are special bike tickets available for using the gondola lift.
