The Salomon Ultra - the supreme discipline over 105 kilometres and 6100 metres of altitude - started in the night from 1st to 2nd August, more precisely from 11 pm in the Elite, Ambitious and Pleasure Run categories. The best runners complete the course in just over 13 hours. The absolute highlight is the P 45 - Glacier Trail, the highest marathon in the Alps, which leads over the Pitztal Glacier. There are a total of nine competition categories. This year, the GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES will make its first stop in the Pitztal. The GTWS is a high-calibre international trail running series that was launched by Salomon in 2018. It combines eight spectacular races on technically demanding routes. The Young Talents Race is new this year for youngsters aged 14+ to under 23. There is also a separate obstacle course at the venue for kids aged three and over. So there is something for everyone.
