Swiss Trac Tour: Starting point for this circular route is the car park near the football grounds in Arzl. From there, follow a forest path for a long and continually downhill section. The surface has loose, rough stones in places. After ca. 1 km you have reached the lowest point of this circular route, the path levels out for a while before continuing on another ca. 1 km long uphill section. Please note that the surface of the path is also loose in places here. At the end of the forest path turn to a tarmac road in the direction of Osterstein. The road continues uphill for several hundred metres past houses and alongside the road before turning right into Diemersteig, which is a well-prepared gravel trail through the forest. It is a slight uphill climb to return to the starting point.

The path to “Gletscherstube” is approx. 2 km long and is manageable with the Swiss-Trac in ca. 30 min. You can admire the end of the valley from the sun terrace. The anteroom of the toilet is accessible by mounting one step, however, the toilet cubicle door cannot be accessed as its door opens to the inside and it can therefore not be locked.

The valley cross-country skiing trail follows the Pitze river all along the bottom of the valley between the villages of Mittelberg and Wiese. The 21.3 km long trail has a set track for classic skiing and for skate skiing and can be skied in both directions. It is furthermore possible to access or exit the trail in any of the villages en route. The valley trail is a must for any cross-country skier visiting Pitztal, not only because it is excellently groomed but because of its magnificently scenic setting.

Large ´Harbeweiher´ [pond] circular route

Start
Nature Park Centre at Gachenblick (1584m)
Finish
Nature Park Centre at Gachenblick (1583m)
As with the small Harbeweiher pond circular hike, with your back turned to the Nature Park Centre, turn right on the farm road in a southerly direction. Follow this road to a fork and also turn right in the direction of Harbeweiher pond. Unlike the small Harbeweiher pond circular route, continue to follow this road past a fantastic viewing point until you reach the Harbeweiher pond. This pond is an extremely untouched and wild, romantic area not far from the Nature Park Centre and lends itself perfectly for nature lovers who do not want to cover long distances. After a short ascent, you will have reached the highest point and can then return on a forest road to the other side of the Nature Park Centre.

Imsterau Runde

Start
opposite the supermarket MPreis (854m)
Finish
opposite the supermarket MPreis (856m)
  • opposite the hotel Post (parking possible) in direction of Imsterberg
  • take the side road to Unterwaldweg and go back to Arzl
The ideal trail for hot summer days for the trail is largely located in the forest.

Hubertus cross-country skiing trail

Start
Nature Park Centre Piller Sattel / Gachenblick
Finish
Nature Park Centre Piller Sattel / Gachenblick

This is a rather demanding trail with set tracks for classic skiing and set skate skiing tracks in places. It meanders over 7.5 km in length through the partially thick forest areas. After approximately 2 km skiers reach a small clearing and the trail runs over a demanding ascent to the “Harbeweiher” pond. After a short loop around the frozen lake and a further ascent, the highest point of the cross-country skiing trail is reached. From there the trail again runs through dense forests back to the stating point. This cross-country skiing trail is ideal for nature lovers with adequate stamina.

Luis-Trenker-Steig - Variante Wald

Start
Church in Wald (744m)
Finish
Church in Wald (750m)
From the Luis-Trenker-Steig car park, which is unfortunately currently closed, follow the signs for Wald and after approx. 50 metres on the main road, you will reach a wide forest path leading directly to Wald. This loop branches off to the left at the fire station. Follow the path over the Benni-Raich bridge to the Bungy-Stüberl, which invites you to take a break with a stunning view of the Pitzeschlucht gorge. From the Bungy-Stüberl, follow the "Luis-Trenker-Steig" signs to return to the starting point via a somewhat steeper path.
