The following are the general terms and conditions of Hochzeiger Bergbahnen Pitztal AG and all important ski pass information for your winter sports holiday at Hochzeiger ski resort.
Opening hours winter 2018/2019
Hochzeiger ski resort will be open from 30 November 2018 until 6 December 2018 (depending on snow conditions) and continuously open between 7 December 2018 and 26 April 2019.
Ticket office opening hours during the winter season
Our Hochzeiger mountain railway ticket office team is at your service daily between 8.30 am and 5 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays the ticket office is open until 5.30 pm.
In addition to cash (euro), the cableway offices accept the following methods of payment: EC card (debit card), Mastercard and VISA. (Please observe the limits of your credit or bank card.)
From 14:00. Please use advanced purchase to avoid waiting times the next day. Many landlords offer the opportunity to purchase ski passes directly from them. Please check with your landlord. Hochzeiger ski passes with a validity from 2 days and more, which are bought at one of our sales points one the day before the validity starts, can be used on the purchase day from 2 pm.
Lost ski passes for 1 and 2 days will not be replaced. If a Hochzeiger ski pass is lost with a least 3 days validity, you will receive a replacement card against presentation of the purchase receipt (Stop number receipt), payment of a processing fee of five euros and a deposit of two euros for the new key card, for the remainder of its validity. The value of the lost card will not be replaced.
Refunds Hochzeiger ski passes
Refunds of Hochzeiger ski passes only take place in the event of ski accidents, which must be certified by a doctor practising in the ski region or by a nearby hospital. Refunds will be made if the ski pass and purchase receipt (stop number receipt) are immediately submitted to the cableway office. All days count as used until submission of the ski pass. If that is before 10 am that day is not counted as used. It is not the date of accident which matters but the time of submission. A medical certificate can be produced at the latest the next day. For family members or accompanying persons, who have to leave early with the injured person, there will be no refund! For illness, early departure, non-operation of cableways or lifts for reasons which are beyond the control of the company, such as poor weather and natural disasters, and non-operation of individual installations or closures of descents, there will be no refund and no claim for extension of the ski pass will be entertained. At the beginning of the season, it is possible that only a limited ski operation is available.
Hochzeiger ski passes from 5 days validity an more can be extended without interruption day directly for one day to a special price of € 20.00 for adults and € 12.00 for Juniors. For the extension, the skipass and the purchase slip must be shown at the Hochzeiger ticket office.
Piste Opening Times
Pistes are opened daily from 8.45 am until 5.00 pm. The usage of the pistes outside those times is dangerous (preparation with piste-maintenance vehicles, cable winding and so on) and forbidden! Please be careful when snow installations and piste equipment are being used.
The piste rescue emergency number in the Hochzeiger ski area is: 0043 (0) 5414 / 87000-79. A service fee of € 180.00 is charged for first aid treatment in the Hochzeiger ski resort.
It's not worth breaking the rules!
Anyone found in controlled zones without a valid ticket or one that is misused, must also pay an additional carriage fee of € 90.00.

We strive to provide our guests with perfect slope conditions every day. However, when fresh snow falls it is not always possible even with all grooming machines deployed to prepare all the slopes simultaneously. And in some weather and snow conditions, fresh snow does not always bind to the older snow underneath, and the new snow can still shift around and form new drifts and irregularities. Unfortunately, this cannot be prevented with even the best grooming of the slopes.

Please understand that our office personnel can make no exceptions to the tariffs. Photos are not required for ski passes (except annual passes). The ski passes are not transferable and must be produced on request by our supervisory staff. Retrospective exchange and the extension or alteration of validity terms are not possible. Cards not purchased at the offices and lost cards are stopped by the card readers. Misuse will result in the ski pass being withdrawn! (Attempting to transfer a ski pass to another person constitutes misuse.) We would like to note that photos for control purposes are made at all control points in the ski resort.The right is reserved to make a report to the authorities. The tariff and transport conditions apply. We would point out that under railway liability laws only guests with valid passes enjoy insurance cover. If the transport conditions are breached, ski slope closures are ignored, the skiing bans in forests or FIS rules are violated, exclusion from transport will be the result. In serious cases the ski pass will be withdrawn without compensation and a report to the authorities may be made. The general terms and conditions of Hochzeiger Bergbahnen Pitztal AG apply.

Individual services to which the bearer of this card is entitled are provided by legally independent businesses. The business selling the card only acts as representative for the other businesses. As such, each individual business is responsible for the provision of individual services and for compensation in the event of any and all calamities.
Information referring § 24 DSG 2000 to Photo Compare
Please note that for the purpose of entry control, a photo of the lift pass owner will be taken for reference when first accessing a turnstile fitted with a camera. Our ski lift staff will check this initial reference photo against photos taken every time you pass through turnstiles fitted with a camera. This initial photo will be deleted immediately after the lift pass expires and all other photographs taken are deleted 30 minutes (at the latest) after passing through each turnstile respectively. Please note that you may also purchase ski passes that are configured not to take pictures when passing through turnstiles, but holders must be prepared to be spot checked by our ski lift staff.

Terms of Transportation:
Buying a mountain lift ticket you fully accept the general terms and conditions of transportation defined by our Lift Company. The full version of these general terms, released by the responsible Austrian authority (Ministry of Transport), is published on official information boards at the lift stations. Non-operation, interrupted operation or reduced operation of mountain lifts: Ski passes will not be refunded or extended in case of bad weather, avalanche hazard, discontinued lift operation, closed ski runs, early departure, etc. The use of all ski pistes is at your own risk. Operating hours and seasons subject to change due to unforeseeable snow conditions.
Reduced Lift Tickets:
A valid photo ID card is absolutely required for discounted lift tickets (Bambini, children, seniors, disabled persons) - no exceptions are made. No further discounts are granted for reduced tickets.
Photo: A photo is required for all season tickets. It will be taken right at the skipass desk and is free of charge.
Our lift tickets are based on the hands-free KeyCard system. A deposit of € 2.00 must be paid for each ticket. The deposit will be refunded if the undamaged KeyCard is returned in a reusable way. You can return KeyCards at all cash desks / ski pass offices of Pitztaler Gletscherbahnen (until 4:00 pm), at the automated KeyCard machine on the glacier, at the tourist information offices, in many sport shops, ski schools or at the hotels' reception desks. The validity of your ski ticket will be checked electronically as soon as you enter the mountain lifts in the valley or within the ski area. Single ride tickets for non-skiers are only available as magnetic cards which must be inserted manually into the turnstiles at the mountain lift terminals.
Misuse, Exchange & Validity of Lift Tickets:
Permanent ski pass controls within the entire ski area. On request, please show your valid ski pass to the lift staff. All ski passes are personal tickets and therefore not transferable to other persons. Misuse of ski passes will be prosecuted (fined with the triple ski pass rate!) and may be reported to the responsible authorities. Any incident of fraudulent use shall result in the immediate confiscation of the ski pass. Once purchased, ski passes cannot be exchanged or prolonged afterwards.
For ski passes in overlapping season times we charge a mixed rate.
Parking in our signposted parking areas is free of charge!
Slope rescue operations have to be paid in cash directly to our office on the spot.
Refund of ski pass in case of an accident: Ski passes valid at least 2+ days are refunded in case of a severe ski accident - This is not valid for accompanying persons. The ski pass of the injured person will be refunded from the day you give it back (and not from the day of the accident) to the ski pass desk on presentation of a medical certificate issued by one of the local doctors.
Combined ski passes:
The single services included in the card are provided by legally independent business partners. All partners selling the card only act as agents for all the other business partners. Therefore, only the respective partner is liable for compensation claims and obliged to provide the single service he offers.
Safety instructions: Please always follow the instructions given by the mountain lift and ski slope staff due to safety reasons. Persons acting contrary to instructions given by the local staff must leave the ski area immediately. The skipass will be confiscated without substitution!
No ski pass refund in case of loss for lift tickets valid up to 2 days. Ski passes valid 3 or more days can be issued a second time for the remaining days on presentation of your ski pass purchase receipt (including a lock code) at the mountain lift cash desk - for a handling charge of € 15.00. No refund of the deposit for the lost KeyCard.
Half-day Lift Tickets:
½ , 1 ½, 2 ½ and 3 ½-day lift tickets can be purchased from 11:35 am. Sorry, there are no morning ski passes.
Kaunertal plus: Buying a multi-day lift ticket (valid for 6+ days) you are allowed to ski on a maximum of 2 days also at Kaunertal Glacier and in the Fendels Ski Area. This offer is not valid during promotional weeks!
Free use of local skibus shuttle buses for holders of a valid lift ticket.
Discounts for Disabled People:
Reduced lift ticket rates for holders of a disabled pass (min. 60% disability grade). Not valid for annual tickets and already reduced passes.
