The X Park (2.700 m - 3.400 m) at the Pitztaler Glacier is more than just skiing or snowboarding. Every wintersport fans heart beat higher, when they hear the claim XPLORE MORE on THE HIGHEST OF TIROL.

The X Park is located between the valley and the middle station of the Mittelberg cable car (Mittelbergbahn) (Slope 36).

Due to its special location in the midst of the glacier, you can find best conditions for cross-country skiing, ski tours and shredden throughout the whole winter season. Everybody, who discovers the X Park from autumn to spring knows immediately: IT'S MORE THAN JUST ALPINE SKIING!

Cross-country skiing centre on the Pitztal Glacier

 

Training at a very high level is possible at the cross-country skiing centre on THE HIGHEST OF TIROL. At 2.740 m beginners as well as professionals find perfecet trail conditions, combined with a breathtaking view. The Pitztal Glacier boasts a total of 6 kilometres of cross-country ski trails: 3 km classic and 3 km skating. The Gletscherexpress and the Gletscherseebahn take you directly to the trail. There is a special container where you can change clothes.

DETAILS

  • The start of cross-country skiing on the Pitztal Glacier is dependent on snow and weather conditions.
  • A special cross-country ski pass grants you access to the Gletscherexpress as well as the Gletscherseebahn mountain railways up and down the mountain.
  • Cross-country trail length: Between 3 and 7 kilometres, depending on the snow conditions at the time
  • Altitude training: you will cover distances of between 2.690 m and 2.740 m during cross-country skiing. The altitude difference of 50 metres means that you can improve your endurance and technique..

SKITOURENPARK POWERED BY DYNAFIT

Austria’s first and largest ski touring park is situated on THE HIGHEST OF TIROL. The Pitztal Glacier has embraced ski touring and now boasts a total of three routes with varying degrees of difficulty. What makes the powered by DYNAFIT ski touring park special is the ascent in the secured ski area. The ascent tracks are laid out in such a way that there are no contact points with the downhill skiers.
