Haus Sauberbach

We are Lonieke and Frank, and with great joy we welcome you to Haus Sauberbach - our dream that has come true in the midst of beautiful Austria.

The name of our house was not chosen by chance: Sauberbach is the literal translation of Frank's last name, Schoonderbeek. Coincidence or not, our house is also directly next to a beautiful mountain stream. It had to be this way.

For years we have shared a wish: one day to open our own little holiday accommodation in Austria. After a search filled with beautiful places and visits, we ended up in the idyllic hamlet of Ritzenried, right in the enchanting Pitztal. There we found the house about which we knew immediately: This is it. A place that touches you even before you've fully stepped out.

“Why Austria?” we are often asked. Frank always responds with a counter-question: “Have you ever been there?”

If you answer “yes,” you understand the feeling immediately. And if you say “no,” we warmly invite you to experience what makes Austria so special.

For us, it is the perfect combination of impressive mountains that we miss in the Netherlands, our love for snow and winter sports ⛷️, as well as the surprisingly beautiful sunny summers. Lonieke used to spend a lot of time in Carinthia, while Frank partly grew up in Fieberbrunn. It’s no wonder that our very first conversation revolved around skiing, mountains, and Austria. Not much later, we asked ourselves: “Why don’t we actually emigrate?”

Shortly thereafter, in December 2025, we bought this beautiful house – our new home and your future holiday spot.

With Haus Sauberbach, we aim to create a warm, welcoming place where you can enjoy peace, nature, adventure, and everything that makes Austria so special. We hope that you will soon feel the same as we did when we first stood here: This is it.
