Terms and Conditions Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail

The Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail event will subsequently be abbreviated to PAGT

1. application - validity
The PAGT is an event organized by the Pitztal Tourism Association, Unterdorf 18, 6473 Wenns. The current changes to the GTC are always kept up to date on the event page on the Internet. They are part of the contract between the organizer and the participant in the version valid at the time of registration.

2. trail routes - character
The various routes are located in high alpine terrain. Some sections are located at over 3,000 m and in terrain that is difficult to access. Especially the P105, P90, P60, P45-Glacier and P45-Rifflsee competitions are extremely long and high alpine trails. All trails have a distinctly adventurous character and guarantee an adventure in the mountains. Participants who take part in this event are aware that they are taking a greater risk. Every participant must be sure-footed and have a head for heights, among other things.

3. services of the organizer and the personal responsibility of the participants
The organizer provides the participants with the following infrastructure:

Marked running route
Catering (on the way and at the finish)
Medical service and mountain rescue on the course and around the finish line
Information during the race about route changes due to alpine dangers (weather changes, etc.)
The participants of the PAGT are aware that this event places very high demands on the participants. With this knowledge, the start of the PAGT is at the participant's own risk. This includes knowledge of their own state of health and training as well as their equipment. Participants are therefore in a position to abandon the run as soon as it threatens to become a health risk. The instructions of the organizer and his authorized personnel must be followed at all times. The organizer and his authorized personnel can exclude and/or disqualify a participant from the event at any time. This applies in particular if the participant's own safety or that of other participants is at risk. A refund of the entry fee is not possible.

As this event takes place in partly untouched nature, the dumping of waste in the open air is prohibited. Environmentally friendly behavior is also expected in other respects. In the event of health problems or accidents involving other participants, first aid will be provided.

4. registration
Registration takes place exclusively via the online form provided for this purpose. The participant's registration is binding once payment has been received in the event account within 14 days of online registration.

The organizer has set an organizational limit of 1,400 starters. Registrations that exceed this limit will not be accepted.

If a registered participant does not take part, there is no entitlement to a refund of the participation fee or the sending of the start package. The same applies if a participant informs the organizer before the start that he/she will not be starting.

Participation is not possible for minors (under 18).

5. requirements and health
To take part in the P105, P90, P60, P45-Glacier and P45-Rifflsee competitions, an excellent level of training (physical and mental) is absolutely essential. Participants must also have excellent orienteering skills. The organizer recommends that all participants acclimatize for several days at over 1,700 m.

6. equipment
Weather conditions can change rapidly in the mountains. A drop in temperature to below freezing with snowfall and/or a sudden storm are possible at any time above 2,000 m above sea level. The following mandatory equipment is prescribed and checked for the various competitions.

7. safety of execution
The organizer assures the participant of the best possible execution. The necessary measures will be taken based on the external conditions. The organizer is entitled, at short notice and without refunding the entry fee, to

a) make changes to the route
b) to interrupt and resume the race
c) to cancel the race or not to start at all

In the event of non-participation, cancellation of the event or interruption due to force majeure, the participant is not entitled to a refund of the organization fee.

8 Course knowledge/closure and traffic regulation
As external weather conditions can make the route markings unrecognizable (wind blowing away markings, blurring of markings due to rain, etc.), it is essential for participants to study the route in detail. Participants must be able to find the trails using the map. There is a timetable for the individual sections of the route with the latest possible passage times. Participants who arrive after this time will be removed from the race by authorized persons. Where the course crosses public paths and roads, traffic regulations must be observed.

9 Medical care, first aid
In accordance with the nature of the trail routes, the medical service is limited to coaching and medical care of the participants. The medical service has the right to take participants who are in danger of damaging their health out of the race for a certain period of time or permanently. In the event of accidents or medically prescribed exclusion from the race, the costs of care and evacuation by the civil rescue services shall be borne by the participant.

10 Start number
The start number must be worn personally and clearly visible. It authorizes access to catering, medical and sleeping facilities, showers and baggage drop-off.

11. storage of luggage
Various items of equipment can be deposited in the finish area. These must be handed in at the finish area at least 30 minutes before the start. The organizer accepts no liability for the storage of equipment (e.g. rucksack, shoes, clothing, etc.).

12. lost property
Lost property must be handed in or collected at the information point during the race. They cannot be kept or forwarded.

13. protests
Protests must be submitted in writing to the organizer upon payment of EUR 60.00, at the latest one hour after the finish.

14. disqualification
Anyone who leaves the course, does not follow the regulations or behaves in an unsportsmanlike manner will be disqualified. The organizer will make the final decision on disqualification.

15. data protection
By registering, participants consent to the publication of their surname, first name, year of birth, place of residence and nationality in the start and ranking lists and the running time of the event. This consent applies to publication on the Internet, in print media, on TV/teletext, in speaker announcements and for the posting of start and ranking lists during the event.
The data provided by participants when registering will be stored and may be passed on confidentially by the organizer to sponsors and partners.
If you have consented to your data being passed on to the ITRA, UTMB & DUV in the results list when registering, they will receive the following data from us: first name, surname, date of birth, running time, nationality
The photos and film recordings made in connection with the PAGT may be used on the Internet, in print media and on TV without any claims to remuneration.
The organizer reserves the right to use the aforementioned personal data for marketing purposes, unless the participants object in writing.

16. exclusion of liability
By registering online, the participant accepts the General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as GTC).

Claims for damages by the participant against the organizer, for whatever legal reason, are excluded. This does not apply if the organizer, its legal representatives or vicarious agents have acted with intent or gross negligence or if liability is mandatory due to damages attributable to the organizer arising from injury to life, limb, health or the breach of essential contractual obligations.

The participant is prepared to undergo equipment checks to determine the mandatory equipment. These checks will be announced and carried out by the organizer. The participant is fully aware of and accepts the conditions of participation and the applicable regulations. The participant expressly declares that he/she has read and understood all the rules, regulations and conditions contained therein and that he/she is sufficiently insured against accidents (also abroad).

The organizer assumes no liability for health risks of the participant in connection with participation in the PAGT. The participant has checked his/her state of health and assures the organizer that there are no health and fitness concerns against participation in the PAGT. Furthermore, the participant must ensure that he/she is equipped in accordance with these GTC.

The organizer accepts no liability for lost valuables, clothing and equipment.

The organizer is not liable for reductions in performance that occur because the participant is prevented from participating in whole or in part due to legal regulations and/or official orders.
