Alpine cattle drive in Jerzens

In autumn, not only the trees know how to present themselves in a colorful and magnificent way. Festively decorated , the cows - as a symbol and thanks for an accident-free summer - make their way down into the valley. The animals are accompanied from the Jerzner Hof past the Gasthof Lammwirt to the Jerzner Mühle opposite the fire station. There is musical entertainment opposite the Lammwirt at the parking lot in front of the church and at the fire station. Products made in the region are sold at the market stalls.

The warm-up party with DJ takes place on Friday. On Saturday, a varied supporting program awaits you with activities for the whole family, such as face painting, nailing, sawing and milking competitions, which guarantee entertainment and fun for all alpine pasture enthusiasts. Souvenirs and regional products can also be purchased at the various market stalls. The weekend ends on Sunday with the Jerzner Kirchtag. After the field mass, the Jerzens music band plays a morning concert. The afternoon ends with another music group.

When does the cattle drive down from the alpine pastures take place in Jerzens?

The festival weekend will take place from Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September 2026:

Where can I park and how do I get to the festival site?

Parking spaces are available for visitors at the Jerzens sports ground. As the town centre will be partially closed to through traffic or very busy during the event, please use the signposted parking areas at the sports ground.

Is there a shuttle bus to the village fair?

Yes, a free shuttle service has been set up between the car park at the Jerzens sports ground and the festival site in the town centre. The shuttle will take you directly to the event and back again, in comfort and without any hassle.

What’s the best way to get there by public transport?

You can easily get there using the Pitztal Regio public buses. Simply get off at the ‘Jerzens Feuerwehr’ bus stop. With the Pitztal Guest Card, you can use the buses in the region free of charge.

Is there an admission charge for the cattle drive?
