Tales about the Alpine ibex in the Alpine region are closely linked to the parish of St. Leonhard. Today, 70 years after the successful re-introduction of the Alpine ibex to Pitztal valley, the visitor centre “Am Schrofen” is devoted to telling this fascinating story. The accessible centre impresses with its exceptional architecture and includes an interactive exhibition on two levels, a café-restaurant with a visitor terrace as well as an info area and shop. You can observe marmots and Alpine ibexes on eye level in a game enclosure (the feeding station is accessible for wheelchair users).
Please note! That dogs are required to have a leash on the entire area. Dogs are not allowed in the ibex enclosure
