Training cross-country ski trails in the Pitztal Valley

Thanks to our high-altitude location in the Alps, we can offer you first-class conditions on two top-class cross-country trails as early as autumn. With the Pitztal Glacier High-Altitude Trail, which opens on 10 October 2026, and the training trail in Mandarfen, which opens on 17 October 2026training trail in Mandarfen, there are two trails for you to get started with cross-country skiing this autumn. The range of facilities is complemented by a designated roller-skiing route around Mandarfen.

An early start to the season thanks to high-altitude infrastructure

As early as autumn, specialist training trails are available to keen cross-country skiers and professional athletes, which, thanks to the altitude, offer above-average snow reliability. The Mandarfen training trail is situated at an altitude of 1,700 m, is approximately 1.7 km long and 5 m wide and utilises the snow farming method. There is a changing room at the start of the trail.

Guaranteed snow cover on the training trail

The snow storage facility for the Mandarfen training trail holds around 30,000 cubic metres of snow.

To ensure you can concentrate fully on your training, we’re playing it safe: around 30,000 m³ of snow is ready for the start of the season. Thanks to state-of-the-art snow-covering technology, 70 to 80 per cent of the snow volume is preserved over the summer. An early start to the cross-country skiing season in autumn is therefore guaranteed. We have also put the valuable experience gained from the first year to immediate use to optimise the route planning.
