P45 Glacier Trail – The highest marathon in the Alps
The first section of the route gets off to a brisk start with the ascent to the Mittagskogel saddle at 3,070 m, before continuing across the glacier to the Braunschweiger Hut. You’ll pass the start and finish refreshment point in Mandarfen once before heading along the Panoramasteig trail to the Sunna Alm. From here, spectacular panoramic glacier views await the participants. Passing the Rifflsee, the route follows the Fulaer Höhenweg to the Taschachhaus and back to Mandarfen. This alpine trail marathon is just the thing for runners who want to get off the road and are looking for a sufficient challenge, covering approximately 45 km and around 2,900 metres of elevation gain. The P45-Glacier is aimed at well-trained runners with marathon experience, ambitious half-marathon finishers, mountain runners, long-distance triathletes and beginners to ultra-running.
