The Pitztal Valley: a great place to live
Shaping a sustainable future for the region
The Pitztal valley faces the challenge of safeguarding its appeal as a place to live, a tourist destination and an economic region and developing it further. To achieve this goal, the Pitztal Tourist Board, the two mountain railways, all four local authorities and committed citizens have joined forces under the umbrella brand ‘Lebenswertes Pitztal’. Together, we are working towards the goal of creating sustainable tourism development in the Pitztal, taking into account environmental, economic and social aspects.
The initiative brings together local movements on an independent, non-partisan platform that provides space for innovative and sustainable ideas . In this way, we promote a strong regional identity and position the Pitztal as an attractive place to live for locals, as a destination with a diverse range of offeringsfor a more mindful and resource-efficient holiday for visitors, and as a competitive economic and tourism region for the future.
Plan P

Our world is changing. That is why, with Plan P, we have launched a comprehensive development process for the valley to meet the challenges of the future. As the central platform and driving force behind economic development, we are pooling all our resources to strengthen the Pitztal as a tourist destination .
Our aim is to offer guests an unforgettable experience whilst operating responsibly, thereby securing the economic future of the local community. This requires the active commitment of all key stakeholders in the region.
The Plan P, unanimously adopted by the Pitztal’s governing bodies, sets out the roadmap for future tourism and social development. It is based on in-depth discussions and workshops and includes measures and projects in the areas of mobility, tourism development and quality of life. A particular highlight is the Future Lab, in which young entrepreneurs from the valley were actively involved in the development process.
With the Plan P, we are laying the foundations for more sustainable development that integrates economic, social and environmental aspects. In this way, we are shaping the future of tourism and securing long-term quality of life and economic stability in the Pitztal.
