A Fascinating Mountain Lake at 2,232 m

Rifflsee is Austria's highest mountain lake and gave also the name to the adjacent Mountain Lifts. Mountain fans of all ages can take full advantage of the Rifflsee mountain lift network which gives access to the region's countless high elevation walking routes, ranging from easy to intermediate difficulty.

Sitebuilder: 
A perfect starting point is the village of Mandarfen in the rear Pitzal Valley at 1,682 m altitude, where you can leave your car in the parking area. The comfortable Rifflseebahn 6-person mountain gondola takes you effortlessly up to 2,300 m above sea level. Here you can choose from myriad walking routes and hiking trails around Rifflsee.
 
The top station is linked to the Sunna Alm Restaurant offering a panoramic sun terrace of a very special kind. The building is an absolute must-see due to its modern elements and sustainable architecture - a shining example in tourism: the passive house is equipped with solar technology and a geothermal heating system.
