Natural tobogganing run Arzl

The natural toboggan run in Arzl is just outside the center of the village.
From the tourist information office uphill to the MPreis, turn right there and follow the path towards Imsterberg. After approx. 1.5 km you come to the toboggan run.

The toboggan run is daily open from 9 am till 5 pm. Every thursday toboggan evening (Only when the toboggan run is in operation). Opening hours on thursday 9 am - 5 pm & 7:30 - 12:00 pm

Leiner Alm circuit

Run from the intermediate station along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm. Then continue on this road all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction, follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut LeinerAlpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechszeiger mountain. Follow Trail 15  until you are just below the mountain hut Kalbenalm. Cross the agricultural road and continue to follow Trail 15 until you reach the Tanzalm. From there, an agricultural road leads back to the intermediate station. 

Sechszeiger circuit

From the intermediate station run along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm.  Then continue on this road for three kilometres all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut Leiner Alpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechzeiger mountain. At the fork turn left and run uphill along the ridge to the Sechzeiger summit cross. Just before the reservoir pond and near the summit cross, a steep trail leads downhill back to the agricultural road. Once there, turn left and follow the road until you reach the starting point of the Single Trail. Then follow the Single Trail across an alpine meadow back to the intermediate station. 

Hochaster Alm circuit

This “beginner’s circuit” starts off at the Plattenrain car park following a forest road just behind the catered mountain hut Puitalm at Plattenrain in the direction of the non-catered mountain hut Timler Alm. Once there, there is a slight downhill section in the direction of Imsterberg and at the fork follow the slightly steeper ascent up to a point just below the catered mountain hut Venet Alm. Then continue to run on the signposted path in the direction of the catered mountain hut Hochaster Alm and return to your starting point.  Duration: 1 h 30 min - 2 h

Sechszeiger - Hochzeiger Trail

Run from the intermediate station along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm. Then continue on this road (Zirben Trail) for three kilometres all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction, follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut Leiner Alpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechzeiger mountain. At the junction, turn left and run uphill along the ridge, all the way to the Sechzeiger summit cross. Then keep left and run past a pond to the Niederjöchl. An uneven single trail then leads up to Felderzeiger and continues on steep and rugged terrain on the last metres up to the Hochzeiger summit cross. To complete the circuit, continue to run downhill along the ridge to Zollkreuz (option to return to intermediate station). At the Zollkreuz junction continue in the direction of Zollberg (2.225m). From then on it is all downhill via a single trail to the forest road until you reach the valley lift station in Liss.

Kreuzjoch circuit

Starting at the Plattenrain car park this trail follows a pretty steep path opposite of the catered mountain hut Puitalm at Plattenrain up towards the catered mountain hut Hochaster Alm and then on to the catered mountain hut Venet Alm. Once there, you can take in the magnificent panoramic views to the Hochzeiger summit and the upper Pitztal valley. The path then turns a bit more rugged and leads (via the Imsterbergkreuz) to the highest point, the Kreuzjoch summit. Once there, follow the downhill path in the direction of the catered mountain hut Galflun Alm and then continue on a forest road to the catered mountain hut Larcher Alm and Venet Alm. Then follow the path that you already know from your ascent, back down to the starting point.

Stage without summit – Day 1: Arzl – Wenns

Starting point: Arzl – from the church a winding path leads up to Burgstall and then on to the hamlet of Arzlair. 
Walking through meadows and a forest the trail leads on to the catered mountain hut Plattenrainalm. Once there, you can take in the panoramic views of the Inntal valley and visit the meditation chapel to let your thoughts wander. A slightly steeper trail leads up to the catered mountain hut Hochastner Alm. Then continue along the mountain ridge on a beautiful forest path directly to the catered mountain hut Venetalm (Follow the signposts for the circular hiking trail “Venet Rundwanderweg”. Then turn into a forest road towards Wenns. You will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. 

Large Venet circuit

This “Queen’s stage” is the same route to the Kreuzjochspitze as described in the “Kreuzjoch circuit” but then follows along the Venet ridge via the Wannejöchl, the Glanderspitze and almost to the top station of the Venet mountain railway. Once there, follow a path to the catered mountain huts Gogles Alm, Galflun and Larcher Alms and on to the Venet Alm. Return to your starting point via the same path as on your way up. The Large Venet circuit passes four summit crosses and four catered mountain huts – making this circuit an extra special experience.  

Wildgrat Trail

Run from the intermediate station via a path past the alpine pasture Kalbenalm towards the summit Sechszeiger. Folow from the mountain ridge towards Hochzeiger and by the Niederjöchl turn left and run downhill to the junction towards the alpine pasture Erlangerhütte. Past the Hinterer Sea Lake on your right. Follow the markings uphill in the direction of Wildgrat. The trail on this uphill cross boulder section is marked by red dots. Follow the markings all the way to the ridge. Once there you have the option to run on to the Wildgrat summit cross, but please note that you have to be surefooted and unafraid of heights in order to do this! Otherwise, follow the markings downhill in the direction of the intermediate station past the Großsee Lake on your left. At the next fork you have the option to run via the Hochzeiger summit or via the Obere and Untere Goaßsteig to the Zollkreuz (option to return to intermediate station). At the Zollkreuz junction continue to run in the direction of Zollberg (2.225m). From then on, it’s all downhill via a single trail to the forest road until you reach the valley lift station in Liss.
