The hike starts from the parking space Fußballplatz Arzl. Follow the farm and forest road to the left of the soccer field. At the junction follow the road uphill in the direction of Ostersteinsiedlung for about 400 m. Then return via the so called path Diemersteig to the starting point.

The circular hiking trail around the Osterstein starts from the Arzl football field. Follow the farm and forest road to the left of the football field. At the junction follow the road uphill in the direction of Ostersteinsiedlung for about 400 m. Then return viathe "Diemersteig" path back to the starting point. Tip: If you turn off the Diemersteig path in the direction of Arzl, you can reach the village's centre after a few minutes and there are two opportunities to take a break (Restaurant Herz As and Pizzeria Die Post).
Arzl - Benni-Raich-Bridge - Wald

The trail heads out from Arzl towards Wald as far as the “Pitzenebene” estate, from where you can admire the gigantic structure of the new suspension bridge with a span of 137.7 m. Here you can walk 94 m above ground across the approx. 1.5 m wide bridge to the hamlet of Wald.

From the car park of the Rifflsee gondola cross the bridge and turn left to walk on the wide agricultural road up to the catered mountain hut Taschach Alm. Take the same way back to Mandarfen.

The winter hike starts at the Mandarfen-Rifflseebahn bus stop. From there, hike past the Rifflsee gondola valley station and cross the bridge. Then turn right and walk along the winter hiking trail to the next bridge. Then follow the groomed winter hiking trail in the direction of Tieflehn and from there, continue in the direction of Plangeross. Just before reaching the hamlet Plangeross, cross the main road and follow the trail on the right back to Tieflehn. There are several opportunities to take a break along this route before returning to the starting point: Siglu bar at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Mittagskogel Lounge, Pitztaler Alm, Hotel Zirbenhof and Schwalbennest bar at Hotel Wildspitze.

This beginner’s route is ideal for those who dare to take their first steps on touring skis. The first few meters are very flat, which is perfect to get used to your new sports equipment. It then gets a little steeper and you get a little more feel for walking with climbing skins. Once you have reached your destination (Kalbenalmweg), you can ski back to the start on the piste, or you can take the Sechszeiger route and continue a further 233 meters in altitude to the mountain station of the Sechszeigerlift.

From the Bungy Stüberl (not catered in winter) car park 1 walk uphill to admire the gigantic structure of the new suspension bridge with a span of 137.7 m. Take a walk 94 m above the ground across the ca. 1.5 m wide bridge to the hamlet of Wald. Return via bus or via the same route. (20 minutes' walking time one way).
Wood and meadow route Klausboden

Past the sawmill before Matzlewald you can access a forest path and after about 50 m turn immediately right in the direction of Klausboden. Continue to follow the signposts along the forest road until you reach Klausboden recreational area. There are two options for your return route: return via the same, wide forest road (suitable for prams) or at the Forstgarten, by the small sawmill, you can access a wild, romantic narrow track following the course of a river. Over a wooden bridge and several wooden planks you return to a forest path. Turning off right here, will take you back to the original forest road leading back to the starting point. Please note that the second option is not suitable for prams.
