Kogel Route - Blue
From the Glacier Restaurant at the top station of Pitztal's Gletscherexpress via a short downhill stretch (about 50 m) to the tour's starting point at the base station of Brunnenkogel T-bar lift.
Characteristics and Description:
Blue Piste – Easy ski tour along the ski run
The ascent route follows exactly the ski piste number 20 on a moderately climbing route, starting at the T-bar lift's base station and leading along the right edge of the ski run (seen from the valley). After about 500 m the ascent route leaves the ski run, joining a separate ascent track towards a short steep slope between the ski piste and the jagged mountain saddle. After this strenuous climb you reach a level area where the route crosses the ski run towards its left side (seen from the valley). Here you continue on the groomed ascent track between the ski lift and the T-bar lift until you get to the lift's top station.
Cappuccino Route - Black
From the Glacier Restaurant at the top station of Pitztal's Gletscherexpress via a short downhill stretch (about 50 m) to the tour's starting point at the base station of Brunnenkogel T-bar lift.
Characteristics and Description:
Black Piste - Difficult ski tour along the ski run with very steep sections.
Moderately ascending route at the beginning, on the left of Brunnenkogel lift (seen from the valley) along the separate ascent track. After about 500 m you turn left (seen from the valley) and follow the ski piste number 26. Keep to the left edge of the ski run (seen from the valley). The permanently rising trail becomes steeper and steeper in the upper third. At the end of the strenuous climb you reach a small ski route, follow it for about 200 m on its right edge. Then turn left and head towards the top station of the Wildspitzbahn, always following the right edge of the ski run. Enough Alpine experience and a full set of ski touring equipment are absolutely required on this tour: suitable only for expert ski mountaineers! High danger of glacier crevasses outside the marked ascent track and secured ski runs. Never leave the signposted and secured ski area due to Alpine hazards.
