Beginner Route

Start
Mittelstation Hochzeiger (2025m)
Finish
Kalbenalmweg (2153m)
This beginner’s route is ideal for those who dare to take their first steps on touring skis. The first few meters are very flat, which is perfect to get used to your new sports equipment. It then gets a little steeper and you get a little more feel for walking with climbing skins. Once you have reached your destination (Kalbenalmweg), you can ski back to the start on the piste, or you can take the Sechszeiger route and continue a further 233 meters in altitude to the mountain station of the Sechszeigerlift.

Mittelberg Route 613

Start
Mittelberg (1729m)
Finish
Gletscherstube (1905m)
The start of the route is the route bus turnaround in Mittelberg. This technically easy route on a gravel road in good condition gives beginners the opportunity to experience the overwhelming sense of mountain biking in the heart of the mountains. Bikers could easily include this small route, even after another more demanding mountain tour.

Sechszeiger Route - black

Start
Car park Liss/Hochzeiger Bergbahnen P5 (1460m)
Finish
Sechzeiger (2335m)
Follow the route to the intermediate station until you reach the underpass. However, do not go through it and do not stay on the toboggan run but turn left next to piste no.9 instead – it’s an ascent through woodland terrain. Once you have reached the logging road of the Sechzeiger slope no.7 – follow it for approx. 200 m and then continue across a slightly hilly terrain through a small valley until you arrive just below the mountain station of the Sechzeiger ski lift.

Kalbenalm - Sechszeiger 6020

Start
Car park Mühlschrofen or Liss/Hochzeiger Bergbahnen (1456m)
Finish
Sechszeiger (1482m)

The starting point of this trail is the car park Mühlschrofen below the hamlet of Gischlewies. The forest path leading towards Leiner Alm branches off after about 1 km onto a wide gravel path towards Kaitanger (Entry also possible from Kaitanger). From here, the route runs parallel to the red MTB route 609 (Tanzalm) and together the trails meander steadily uphill through sparse woodland to the Stalderhütte/Hochzeigerhaus turn-off. The route continues straight on to the Kalbenalm located at the timberline (refreshment stop). From there the trail runs steeply uphill in serpentines for approx. 1.5 km to the reservoir at the mountain station of the Panorama cable car. On the subsequent flatter section, the biker can take a breather before reaching the summit cross of the Sechszeiger at 2,392 m, where a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains makes the effort worthwhile. If you want to reach a second summit, follow the signs to the Hochzeiger 2.5 mountain station - another 1.7 km or 40 minutes. Once there, you can reach the Hochzeiger 2,560 m summit on foot in 15 minutes. You can return via the same route or via the Steinbock Trail (single trail).
