Wald 2

Start
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (886m)
Finish
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (886m)
Swiss-Trac Tour: Start: car park near the church. From there, follow the tarmac road for 0.5 km along Lenegasse through the hamlet of Wald. Near Wald Obermauri just in front of the post box turn left into a wide farm track that can be easily managed by using the Swiss-Trac. After approx. 0.5 km you will reach a turn-off. Pass the turn-off and return back to the village centre. It is a steeper incline on the last 20 m back to the tarmac road, from where the car park can be reached within minutes.

Around the Breite with Swiss-Trac or electric bike

Start
Arzl, Car park Steige (851m)
Finish
Arzl, Car park Steige (851m)
Swiss Trac or Speed bike tour: The route starts from the car park at the fire station with a short, steep ca. 100 m climb on a tarmac road. This is easy to manage by Swiss-Trac. The route carries on with continuous up- and downhill sections. After approx. 0.5 km continue on the forest path with a high central grass verge. The circular route returns in the direction of the houses and the car park along the main village road, which has little traffic.

Wald 1

Start
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (886m)
Finish
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (886m)
Swiss-Trac Tour:
Start: car park near the church. From there, follow the tarmac road for approx. 0.5 km along Lenegasse through the hamlet of Wald. Then turn off into a farm track on the left. The farm track is wide and can be easily managed using the Swiss-Trac. After ca. 1.5 km you will pass a chapel. The farm track ends again after approx. 1 km in the area of Lenegasse, on which you return to the starting point via the same route.

ZirbenPark Circular Route

Start
Mittelstation of the mountain lift Hochzeiger (2031m)
Finish
Mittelstation of the mountain lift Hochzeiger (2005m)
Swiss Trac Tour: It is a level road to get to the ticket office at the valley station of Hochzeiger gondola from the car park. From there, take a lift to the gondola access on the first floor. Right next to the lift on the ground floor is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Entry to the gondola is via a mobile ramp. The gondola can accommodate wheelchairs with a maximum width of 60 cm. The Swiss-Trac can be transported in the same gondola or in the following gondola by accompanying persons. At the top station the gondola staff will again be of assistance to exit the gondola with a mobile ramp. Adjacent to the top station of the gondola you will find the catered mountain hut “Zeigerrestaurant”. It can be accessed across a meadow, which is hard to navigate and then via a ramp with a considerable gradient. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet in the basement which is, however, not easy to find as it is not incorporated in the signposted area. Please note that during the summer part of the lift is covered by banners and making it hard to spot. The toilet is spacious and offers enough room for turning circles.

Starting at “Zeigerrestaurant” follow the beautifully laid-out 1.5 km long “Zirben” [pine] trail. Please note that there are large sections with a steep incline on loose gravel surface and taking this route is only advisable for experienced Swiss-Trac users. The steeper section passing the “Zirbenzapfen” [pine cone] with a big slide can, however, be bypassed by only taking part of the route. After approx. 2/3 of the trail, you will reach another catered mountain hut, “Tanzlalm”. Unfortunately neither the restaurant nor the ground floor toilets are suitable for wheelchair users. The last third of the trail back to the “Zeigerrestaurant” features a steep uphill section.

Wald 4

Start
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (886m)
Finish
Arzl/Wald car park by the church Wald (887m)
Swiss-Trac Tour: Start: car park by the church. From there, take the tarmac road uphill past the parish office in the direction of Wald Mairhof. After driving alongside the road for ca. 0.5 km you will reach a junction. We would recommend to continue following the main road straight on and to continue the route in this direction. The road is very wide and with little traffic. Pass the next group of houses in the direction of the restaurant “Jausenstation Waldeck”. The path continues uphill until a turnoff on the left leads into a gravel forest path. The next section is downhill on loose surface. After another bend and a few metres, the gravel path leads on to a tarmac road, which continues downhill in the direction of the hamlet of Wald Obermauri. After a few 100 metres you will reach a junction. Turn left and the next 0.5 km follow a tarmac pavement alongside the road. At the next turnoff, turn right and continue downhill until you complete this circular route at the starting point.

Small Osterstein circular route

Start
Car park Fußballplatz Arzl (865m)
Finish
Car park Fußballplatz Arzl (865m)
Swiss Trac Tour: Starting point for this circular route is the car park near the football grounds in Arzl. From there, follow the tarmac road in the direction of the village. At the next junction turn right. After a short uphill section you will reach Diemersteig, which is a well-prepared gravel trail through the forest to the Osterstein hamlet. The route is overall relatively flat with short uphill or downhill sections. Once you have reached Osterstein, go through the houses, up- and downhill in places. The route is well signposted. Continue in the direction of Diemersteig through the hamlet until you reach the edge of the forest. Continue past a playground until you reach another forest road and the Diemersteig. The route takes you back to the starting point.

Great Osterstein circular route

Start
Parkplatz Fußballplatz Arzl (865m)
Finish
Parkplatz Fußballplatz Arzl (864m)
Swiss Trac Tour: Starting point for this circular route is the car park near the football grounds in Arzl. From there, follow a forest path for a long and continually downhill section. The surface has loose, rough stones in places. After ca. 1 km you have reached the lowest point of this circular route, the path levels out for a while before continuing on another ca. 1 km long uphill section. Please note that the surface of the path is also loose in places here. At the end of the forest path turn to a tarmac road in the direction of Osterstein. The road continues uphill for several hundred metres past houses and alongside the road before turning right into Diemersteig, which is a well-prepared gravel trail through the forest. It is a slight uphill climb to return to the starting point.

Pitzenhöfe - Unterleins

Start
Wenns, car park Pitzenhöfe (860m)
Finish
Wenns, car park Pitzenhöfe (862m)
Swiss-Trac Tour: There is a car park directly opposite the football pitch in Pitzenhöfe. From there, follow the path past the chapel on the left into the forest. The tarmac road stops here and turns into a gravel forest path. The path is wide and easy to navigate with the Swiss-Trac. It is a steady and steep uphill climb in the direction of Leins with water bars crossing the path at regular intervals. You will reach the hamlet of Unterleins after ca. 2.5 km. Here, the path follows along the village road through the hamlet until reaching the main road. The path continues on the opposite side to Oberleins, however, as it is hard to navigate. It is therefore advised to turn back and return via the same route to the starting point.
