Seeweg Reservoir

Start
Eingang am Seeweg Speicherteich (1437m)
Finish
Eingang Seeweg Kaitanger (1437m)
Swiss-trac tour: Park directly next to the valley station of Hochzeigerbahn gondola and then take the Swiss-Trac down the road before turning right for a nice, short circular route around the lake (ca. 10 min.). It’s a loose gravel path that is accessible by Swiss-Trac.

ZirbenPark Circular Route

Start
Mittelstation of the mountain lift Hochzeiger (2031m)
Finish
Mittelstation of the mountain lift Hochzeiger (2005m)
Swiss Trac Tour: It is a level road to get to the ticket office at the valley station of Hochzeiger gondola from the car park. From there, take a lift to the gondola access on the first floor. Right next to the lift on the ground floor is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Entry to the gondola is via a mobile ramp. The gondola can accommodate wheelchairs with a maximum width of 60 cm. The Swiss-Trac can be transported in the same gondola or in the following gondola by accompanying persons. At the top station the gondola staff will again be of assistance to exit the gondola with a mobile ramp. Adjacent to the top station of the gondola you will find the catered mountain hut “Zeigerrestaurant”. It can be accessed across a meadow, which is hard to navigate and then via a ramp with a considerable gradient. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet in the basement which is, however, not easy to find as it is not incorporated in the signposted area. Please note that during the summer part of the lift is covered by banners and making it hard to spot. The toilet is spacious and offers enough room for turning circles.

Starting at “Zeigerrestaurant” follow the beautifully laid-out 1.5 km long “Zirben” [pine] trail. Please note that there are large sections with a steep incline on loose gravel surface and taking this route is only advisable for experienced Swiss-Trac users. The steeper section passing the “Zirbenzapfen” [pine cone] with a big slide can, however, be bypassed by only taking part of the route. After approx. 2/3 of the trail, you will reach another catered mountain hut, “Tanzlalm”. Unfortunately neither the restaurant nor the ground floor toilets are suitable for wheelchair users. The last third of the trail back to the “Zeigerrestaurant” features a steep uphill section.

Leiner Alm circuit

Start
Middel station (2024m)
Finish
Middel station (2025m)
Run from the intermediate station along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm. Then continue on this road all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction, follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut LeinerAlpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechszeiger mountain. Follow Trail 15  until you are just below the mountain hut Kalbenalm. Cross the agricultural road and continue to follow Trail 15 until you reach the Tanzalm. From there, an agricultural road leads back to the intermediate station.

Sechszeiger circuit

Start
Middel station (2025m)
Finish
Middel station (2026m)
From the intermediate station run along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm.  Then continue on this road for three kilometres all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut Leiner Alpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechzeiger mountain. At the fork turn left and run uphill along the ridge to the Sechzeiger summit cross. Just before the reservoir pond and near the summit cross, a steep trail leads downhill back to the agricultural road. Once there, turn left and follow the road until you reach the starting point of the Single Trail. Then follow the Single Trail across an alpine meadow back to the intermediate station.

Sechszeiger - Hochzeiger Trail

Start
Middel station (2024m)
Finish
Valley station (1467m)
Run from the intermediate station along the agricultural road to the catered mountain hut Tanzalm. Then continue on this road (Zirben Trail) for three kilometres all the way to the valley station of the Zirben mountain railway. At the following road junction, follow the agricultural road on the left all the way to the starting point of the Single Trail 4A. This trail overlooks the catered mountain hut Leiner Alpe (which is ideal for a break), until it almost reaches the north ridge of the Sechzeiger mountain. At the junction, turn left and run uphill along the ridge, all the way to the Sechzeiger summit cross. Then keep left and run past a pond to the Niederjöchl. An uneven single trail then leads up to Felderzeiger and continues on steep and rugged terrain on the last metres up to the Hochzeiger summit cross. To complete the circuit, continue to run downhill along the ridge to Zollkreuz (option to return to intermediate station). At the Zollkreuz junction continue in the direction of Zollberg (2.225m). From then on it is all downhill via a single trail to the forest road until you reach the valley lift station in Liss.
