STONE PINE EXHIBITION IN JERZENS
The dense Stone Pine woodlands have protected Jerzens village from avalanches and moraines ever since it was built. The wood of this tree has also found its way inside the local homes: farm houses used to be almost exclusively furnished with this wood variety. The tree possesses special properties so products for health and wellbeing were also made from the Swiss Pine.
The local community of Jerzens still counts on the Swiss Pine today and thereby nurtures a centuries old friendship! The exhibition “The Stone Pine – A Gifted Alpine Border-Liner” takes visitors on a fascinating journey of discovery through the life of the Stone Pine: from seedling to a tree’s felling, from tiny tot to its golden age! Every stage of this tree’s life holds fascinating details and reveals interesting interrelationships. The exhibition shows that Stone Pines and humans have a lot in common and paints the Stone Pine in a completely new light. Moreover, visitors will learn about the wide-ranging uses of Stone Pine wood and its amazing properties that promote health, ambience and wellbeing.
